We were created in Christ for the purpose of doing good things. God's work in our hearts is to that end - that we would have a desire to live a life filled with beneficial deeds. All that God has provided and enabled us to do should be utilized for Him.

True love does not deliberately keep records of wrongs or past mistakes. This is the most basic tenet of Christianity. We have been forgiven and so we forgive others.

As New Testament believers, we are instructed to pay people what we owe them. Love does no harm to its neighbor and therefore will own up to wrong actions done toward them. The self-seeking person will put the onus on others to forgive.

Jesus didn't always couch His corrections in positive statements of reinforcement. In love, He went straight to the heart of people's problems so their lives could be made right. Only then could they experience God's best.

God has given us the right and ability to agree or disagree with Him. We agree with Him by saying about ourselves what He says. Many people interrupt the flow of God's healing power with their opposing words.

Jesus didn’t back down or shrink back in fear from those who threatened Him. He also used strong words toward religious hypocrites. True love must be strong and willing to do what is right for others.

It is possible for one to be angry and be right – and justified in feeling that way. In order to love one thing, one must hate the opposite. Being in God's love means that we are opposed to whatever opposes Him.

Love does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth. A lover of self will withhold the truth rather than deal with the potential fallout of speaking it. True love will speak the truth - at the right time and the right way.

We are not saved by grace but then healed by works. We are healed by Jesus' stripes and there is nothing we can do to add to or take away from this fact. Often the harder we try the further we get from our healing. Healing is already yours in Christ.
